Llama Inn

Yes it is a Peruvian place. Michelin Bib Gourmand. The first time we went, we sat in front of the kitchen on the high seats and got to watch all the action and the discipline in the kitchen. Had the whole fish and all the delicious Peruvian dishes.

Sunday in Brooklyn

This opened a few years ago and became quickly a buzzling spot to hang out for brunch. If you go at night, their cocktails are very creative and amazing. The bar spots are cozy to hangout with its parquet floors, wood-burning fires and thriving colony of plants.

Simple Cafe

This was our regular go to Brunch place. It's simple French Algerian cuisine. They make their own bread. One of the oldies in Williamsburg started by two sisters. Don't miss the cute simple goods store they have within the restaurant.

Miss Favela

When we moved to Australia about 10 years ago for a brief period, we had our going-away party here. Fun atmosphere on a Sunday. It’s known in the NY Brazilian music scene with amazing artists representing different musical genres, such as Forró, Samba, and Pagode. You can start dancing even outside the restaurant on the street and the location is perfect for that in a street corner of two roads.

We went there the first time on a cold winter day and can only find two bar seats. One of those cozy, touching each other and your neighbors NYC moment but at the same time you enjoy the whole romantic vibe with the ambience, music, glasses clinking at the cocktail bar with an amazing cocktail menu. They serve more than 100 natural wines by the glass,

La Superior

“Michelin Guide” recommended. Tiny place. Get their 3 taco sampler. When I am craving I just walk there sometime and just have that for lunch. Been going there since they opened in 2008. They have a cool spot near the entrance that can sit four people, two inside and two outside with high chairs. Very hipster and Williamsburgy. Menu is mainly based in his home town’s neighborhood Coyoacan and it’s large street food culture.

Leuca

Restaurant in the William Vale hotel in the lower level. Inspired by Southern Italy, from Chef Andrew Carmellini's NoHo Hospitality Group serving house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas and rustic dishes. Love their sea food squid ink pasta, although I think it depends if the chef has changed. Make reservations for drinks after for the rooftop Westlight to see amazing Manhattan and Brooklyn views.

Patrizia's NYC

Very casual, traditional Italian vibe. Portions are big as it is family style and great for parties. If it is your birthday, all the waiters will start spinning their napkins and the guests join and sing birthday songs in Italian. They have branches all over.

M Shangai

Home style cooking and home made dumplings. If you like juicy pork soup dumplings like I do, M Shanghai makes them great.

Diner NYC

Dont' be fooled by the name that it is a normal Diner. You don’t get a menu here. The menu is committed to local, seasonal, sustainable foods, and built relationships with the farmers in upstate New York and surrounding regions. They just remember the menu for the day and write it down with a pencil on the paper table cover remembering all the intrinsic ingredients in the dishes.
